Raffles Dubai, an eye-catching 18 storey structure located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai’s premiere business and shopping district is now open. The hotel is just 15 minutes from Dubai International Airport and ten minutes from Dubai Financial City.

Built in the shape of a pyramid, in keeping with Wafi City’s Egyptian themed mall, the hotel comprises 188 well-appointed guest rooms and 52 luxurious suites. All rooms are palatial in size, with décor inspired by the Middle East and each room also benefits from its own private spacious balcony with views across the city.

Raffles Dubai comprises nine food and beverage outlets, a grand Ballroom, seven meeting rooms the award-winning Raffles Amrita Spa, a gym and a Raffles merchandise shop. One of the hotel’s unique features is the impressive one hectare “Sparkling Botanical Sky-garden”; a botanical display of various plants depicting the four Green elements of fire, wind, earth and water.

The upcoming 13th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), one of the leading shopping and entertainment extravaganzas in the world, will be held for a period of 32 days in 2008. DSF 2008 will commence on 24 January 2008 and run until 24 February, presenting the finest festive experience in the region.

More than two million visitors attend the Dubai Shopping Festival each year. The event is enlivened with international theatre and street performances, fashion shows, nightly fireworks and laser shows, prize draws (with prizes such as Rolls Royces and gold bars), film festivals, children’s events and handicraft shows.

Banyan Tree Holdings Limited has announced the opening of their inaugural property – Angsana Hotel & Suites Dubai. Stated to soft-open end of 2007, with full opening in 2008, the property will consist of two towers.

Angsana Hotels and Suites Dubai will be located along Sheikh Zayed Road. Tower 1 will consist of 417 studios, and one and two-bedroom units while Tower 2 will house 364 deluxe rooms, one and two-bedroom suites, as well as club and luxury floors for guest relaxation and recreation.
